Online Discussions : You can either post to the online discussion or e-mail your instructor through your web browser. Conferencing for online classes is entirely web-based. A web-based conferencing system is the most effective interactive device for distance learning today. You can post text, graphics, HTML and internet links to a class discussion. All you need is a current web browser to access and interact in your class discussions.

I want to remind you that your participation in discussions IS GRADED. Your overall participation in discussions is worth 30% of your grade. So, I hope you will provide thoughtful responses and take these discussions seriously. In order to be successful in discussions:

1. Your responses should be several sentences to a full paragraph.
2. You MUST support your responses with specific information, key points, etc. introduced in the module.
3. You should read other student responses and whenever possible, try to contribute something new to the discussion.
4. You should not simply repeat what other students have said but demonstrate that you have really thought about the material. Tip: While some of your points may be the same, you can distinguish yourself from other students by using different examples.
